Bloggers & Paws at BlogPaws, Go Figure

This past weekend I attended BlogPaws 2012, a blogging and social media conference aimed at those that work with, train, advocate for, or write about anything with paws. It was held in Salt Lake City, Utah and welcomed hundreds of participants, numerous brand representatives, great speakers on the craft of blogging and social media, and oh yeah, people brought their pets!

There were dogs both big and small.

There were dogs that rode skateboards and came with their own rockstar tour bus & entourage.

There were dalmations that stood next to a stuffed toy dog to try and fool me!

There were cats that just sat & chilled. Really, who knew cats did that in a room of dogs?

There were sweetie smiley pit bulls in tutu ruffles that gave you kisses.

There were amazingly trained search & rescue dogs.

And sometimes at lunch, there was a dog that popped out from under the table to say “oh hai.”

I have to say in all my years of attending conferences, it was a bit unnerving at first having animals, mostly dogs…everywhere. But then it got fun seeing little furry faces everywhere. It was fun to pet all the ever-so-friendly dogs, as I didn’t bring either of my two dogs for two reasons. One, they’ve never been on a plane and I don’t know how they’d do. Two, they are both bottomless pits of need (and I say that in the nicest possible way) who would distract me from the learning I was there to do.

It was fun, Cynthia, and a great way to promote a dog-related business.
