Feed the Need

Hey you, over on Facebook. Yeah, you know who you are. Clicking around, liking all your friend’s pictures, making snarky comments, seeing if your former high school classmates got fat and/or divorced, and  procrastinating from work and whatnot.

Well, what if you used Facebook for good?

Natural Balance Pet Foods (the one started by Dick Van Patten – totally the dad I wished I had growing up watching Eight is Enough, but I digress) is teaming up with Angels in Fur Dog Rescue to donate one pound of dog food for each new “LIKE” on the Natural Balance Facebook page.

 Feed the Need

Seriously folks, click their “Like” button by August 31 and dogs get some food.

Feed the need!

Oh, and while you’re feeding stuff…

Feed my ego and “Like” the DogSplendor Facebook page too, will ya? I promise there is awesome stuff over there. You know, the kind of stuff you can share on your own Facebook page and all your friends will like you that much more. So, basically “Liking” the DogSplendor Facebook page, and sharing its content, is guaranteed to make you 100% more likable to your friends! Can’t beat that!

Hi, I’m Stefanie.

Those who know me, know I have a passion for planning events. I’ve planned conferences of all sizes, fundraisers, silent auctions, live auctions, and this summer I even learned more about planning a large outdoor dog festival.

One of my personal goals when starting this blog was to find a way to marry up those event planning skills with events to help homeless pets. However, the missing piece in the puzzle is learning to use social media effectively in conjunction with pet-related event promotion. This makes me sound old, but most of my experience comes from before the term “social media” existed.

Therefore, it would be beyond awesome to attend BarkWorld 2012, as a guest of Iams, and learn all about the most effective and cutting-edge “Social Petworking!”

With the mind-blowingingly fabulous social media skills I’d learn at BarkWorld 2012, I’d be better equipped to engage my community to participate in events and fundraisers to help support pet adoption agencies. Many small agencies are working so hard to keep their heads above water and provide food and medical care for the animals they have, that while fundraising and event planning sound like a great idea, they don’t have the time or specific skills to get something started. That is where I come in! The small agencies in my area do so much on a daily basis to help pets, that added awareness and, of course, added funds, would only help with getting more pets in their forever homes!
