Do supermodels have to be bribed with cheese?

Sometimes my dogs are uber photogenic and actually behave when I want to take their picture.

Then there is the other 99% of the time.

Typically Maddie is my go to dog for taking pictures with products, etc. Izzie doesn’t like having her picture taken. It’s quite possible she might be in the Schnoodle witness protection program, and I’m just not aware.

At any rate. Cheese. You know how photographers say “say cheese” to get people to smile in a photo? Well, with my girls, I just need to say CHEESE, and then back it up with, you know, actual cheese. I wonder if this is what they do with supermodels?

Below is a drawing I was given several years ago when both of my dogs attended a doggie Halloween party at their doggie daycare. For years, I’ve been meaning to take a picture to match the drawing. This week I finally did. Sort of.

As the small amount of cheese I had dwindled, they quickly grew tired of the whole thing, and/or me.

By the way, to follow up on my prior post regarding the EPIC Halloween costume I had planned for Izzie? Well, life happened. I got so busy this weekend with obligations that the materials never left the fabric store bag. I’m sure Izzie is relieved, although I still have the materials, and maybe next year I’ll start the whole thing with more than three days to finish it.

Crazy dog mom preps for Halloween

When you’re a crazy dog mom (moi, of course), interactions with normal people sometimes go a little like this:

Lady at fabric store cutting counter: Oh, what are you making?

Me (holding back a squee of joy): a really cool Halloween costume for my dog!

Lady at fabric store: Oh, really? Why do people want to dress up their dogs?

Me: It’s fun! She doesn’t mind. We’re going to a Halloween party especially for dogs.

Lady (and I use this term loosely): Oh wow, I can’t even believe they would have such a thing!

Me: Face palm.

Clearly, I am in the right and this “lady” was an old stick-up…errr…nevermind.

So, obviously since I just bought the materials today, the costume is not ready, but I am SO excited. I’ve never seen this costume anywhere, I even looked online when I got home!

Make sure you check back next week for the finished product!

In the mean time, here is a fun Halloween infographic from TheUncommonDog.com. Enjoy!

Pug-o-Ween – A plethora of pugs in costumes!

This past Saturday, Seattle Pug Rescue held their annual Pug-o-Ween fundraising event in Seattle.

What do you get when you mix a large community center gym, pug-loving owners, and approximately 100 pugs in costumes? You get an unimaginable amount of over-the-top cuteness! And just so you don’t have to actually imagine the cuteness on your own, I snapped a few pics. Enjoy!
